Anonymous Comments
Anonymous Comments
Anonymous commenting is controlled at tow levels, globally and per weblog and is disabled at both levels by default. A user must specify a valid email address to post anonymously and via this email address will recieve a validation link. Until the validation link is visited, the comment is quarantined.
Enabling Anonymous Comments - Globally
After isnstalling/reinstalling KNotes anonymous commenting is switched off. If you want to allow anonymous comments in your portal then you have to enable tham using the KNotes configuraion tool.
- Open the ZMI view on your portal (you need to be logged-in as a manager). Then click on the lool labeled 'kndiscuss_sql'
- Click the 'Anonymous Comment' tab to open the management interface
- When someone posts a comment anonymously the post is made using a special user account. Select an appropriate name for the account.
- Check the box Labeled allow anonymous comments
- You can also allow commenters to create an account at the same time as posting, if you wish to so then check the box labaled 'Allow join from anonymous comment form'
Quarantined comments are stored in a separate database table, these comments can be viewed in the 'anonymous comment' management interface. You may also flush comments older than 3 days using this facility
Enabling Anonymous Comments - Weblogwise
As yet, the affordance for controlling anonymous comments on a per weblog basis has not been simplified beyond using the standard Zope properties form for a weblog. Use the 'manage_propertiesForm' (BLOG_URL/manage_propertiesForm) for enabling anonymous comments. This will soon change with in a later release
