Daniela's robots
17-April-2005
permalinkLast week the students have built a prototype car-robot (see image attached ) which uses basic in- and output-modalities such as touch sensor and actuators like motor (rotation left/right , straight on, backwards) as well as blinking lights and sounds (pieps-melodies). Took them more two hours only to build it with LEGO according to the tutorial we developed- They did not want to stop after lecture was over, developed some kind of ambition and competition.
This post has three purposes.
first I wanted to try some pictures in my blog and see if it works.
Second I am bad at taking pictures and my friend Daniela is great at it - I want to persuade her to share her photos through Flickr.
Lastly - I think Daniela' s project is brilliant - see more below to see what she said about her robots in an email to me and hopefully if there is some interest she will add more.
Extended text for this entry:

Hopefully it will work.
At the moment nobody of the tech support managed to make the Infrarot-transmitter work which is supposed to transfer the programme developed to the microcomputer. The student found out that we need to switch off the lights :-), but not working on the notebooks for some strange reason yet.
At school we may build little animals (which is on the agenda in Biology anyway) which behave differently, made of traditional materials, hiding the robot inside. Am about collecting ideas. Supposed to develop some kind of game. will be on the documented on the Web site."
