Knownet (operated by KNOWNET LIMITED, a company registered in England and Wales, D-U-N-S Number 234498143) is committed to providing a safe environment for everyone who uses our platform. We have a zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This page describes the standards we apply, how users can report concerns, and how we cooperate with authorities.
1. Eligibility — adults only
Knownet is intended for users aged 18 and over. Anyone under 18 is not permitted to register, create a profile, or transact on the platform. If we become aware that an account belongs to a minor, we terminate that account immediately and delete any associated content. Our age requirement is stated in our Terms of Service and enforced at sign-up.
2. Prohibited content and conduct
The following are strictly prohibited and result in immediate account termination, content removal, and reporting to the relevant authorities:
- Any content that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers children (CSAM/CSAE), in any form (image, video, text, audio, link, or solicitation).
- Grooming behaviour, sexualised communication with minors, or attempts to make contact with minors for harmful purposes.
- Sharing personal information about minors without verifiable parental consent.
- Trafficking, recruitment of minors for any service, or any behaviour that puts a child at risk of harm.
3. Reporting tools
Every post, message, listing, and user profile in the app includes a Report control. Users can flag content for child safety concerns from the overflow menu on the content itself, with no requirement to leave the app.
Reports are routed directly to our Trust & Safety team and triaged within 24 hours. Confirmed CSAM is preserved as evidence, escalated to the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) in line with our legal obligations, and the offending account is terminated permanently.
Users can also report concerns by email at support@knownet.com without needing an account.
4. Detection and moderation
We combine automated and human review to detect prohibited content. Automated checks scan uploaded images and text against known CSAM hashes and policy-violating signals. Human moderators review escalations and reports.
Content that violates this policy is removed proactively. Where content is reviewed and confirmed as CSAM, we preserve it for law enforcement and follow the reporting workflow described in section 3.
5. Cooperation with authorities
Knownet cooperates fully with law enforcement and child protection agencies. We report confirmed CSAM and credible threats to minors to the relevant national or regional authorities, including but not limited to NCMEC (United States), IWF (United Kingdom), and equivalent agencies in the regions we operate.
When served with valid legal process, we preserve and disclose information consistent with applicable law.
6. Designated point of contact
Our Trust & Safety team is reachable for child safety concerns at any time:
- Email: support@knownet.com
- Legal inquiries: legal@knownet.com
The designated point of contact is responsible for child safety compliance and is available to respond to questions from regulators, app stores, and law enforcement.
7. Compliance
Knownet complies with all applicable child safety laws in the jurisdictions where we operate, including the United Kingdom Online Safety Act, the EU Digital Services Act, and the United States PROTECT Our Children Act / 18 U.S.C. § 2258A reporting requirements where applicable. We report to regional and national authorities as required by law.
8. Updates to this policy
We may update these standards as our platform evolves or as regulatory requirements change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
